Zen Poster, Four Mountains and Their Reflections, Japanese Print Spirit

Four landscapes float on the paper, and each extends into the water with a long reflection stretching downward like a stroke of ink. Top left, a leaning pine spreads its branches in front of a large orange sun, above rocky pinnacles and grey hills fading in successive layers. Top right, a snowy summit rises in glacier-blue tones, facing a wooded shore. Bottom left, bare trees surround a grey peak beneath a golden-yellow sun. Bottom right, a red mountain towers over a pine forest whose reflection blazes orange.

These compositions evoke Asian ink landscape painting and Japanese woodblock prints, where mountain and water form an inseparable whole. You find the same taste for emptiness, the same economy of means and the same room given to the reflection, which doubles each scene with a blurrier, more dreamlike landscape. In front of these four pictures, the eye slows down, moves from one to the next and ends up at peace.

The style combines ink silhouettes, screen-print textures, broadly brushed reflections and small cream spots that recall the texture of old paper. Each panel has its dominant color: grey and orange, petrol blue, black and yellow, red and orange, on a cream background that unifies the whole.

At Menivora, nature is an invitation to contemplation. This poster is a reminder that the calm of a lake is sometimes enough to reflect a whole world, and that all you need to do is stop to see it.

It will find its place in a living room, bedroom, study, meditation or yoga space. It suits Japandi, zen or minimalist interiors, light wood, bamboo, linen and green plants. It is an ideal gift for lovers of Japanese culture, meditation or mountains, and it complements our other minimalist nature posters.

At Menivora, we believe calm water teaches us to see better.
