Vintage Mountain Poster: Red Sun, Golden Moon and Waterfall

Day and night on a single poster

Two celestial bodies share the sky: a red sun on the left, a golden moon on the right. Between them, a snow-capped mountain releases a wisp of mist that drifts up to a small blue cloud. Nothing clashes in this image. Day and night coexist, and that balance is what gives the poster its calm.

A landscape that reveals itself little by little

Below the mountain, the scenery unfolds like the stages of a walk: a soft green wooded hill, an orange slope where a tree spreads its roots, green, yellow and blue peaks, a pale meadow. A river ties it all together, becomes a waterfall, then comes to rest in a turquoise lake. Birds cross the cream background, in tight flocks or long lines.

Every tree has its season

Some trees are bare, others carry light foliage, and a large coral-red tree blooms by the water's edge. You can read the passing of the seasons in it, from winter to high summer. It is an image that speaks of time without saying so: everything changes, everything returns. At Menivora, we love posters that make you want to pause for a moment, to look and to reflect.

Warm colors, the grain of old paper

Vermilion red, orange, ochre yellow, moss green, teal blue: the palette is generous, but softened by the cream background and grainy textures that recall vintage travel posters and Japanese prints. The result warms up a room without overwhelming it.

Which room should you hang it in?

Above a sofa, a bed or a desk, this poster brings a real touch of color to a light wall. It pairs well with wood, linen, rattan and Scandinavian or Japandi-inspired interiors. An oak frame brings out its warm tones; a black frame emphasizes its graphic side. It also makes a lovely pair with our Minimalist Japanese Landscape poster.
